A customer asks the price, looks at a few photos, and then goes quiet. That silence is the single most under-used opportunity in Bangladeshi f-commerce — these are people who wanted to buy, and simply never got to the finish line.
Notice that none of these is "didn't like the product." Almost all of these customers started the conversation already interested in buying.
A short, personal message a few hours after the conversation stalls — "Your order isn't confirmed yet, is there anything I can help with?" — brings a real share of these customers back. There's no trick to it. It's the same reason a person who's simply busy responds well to a gentle reminder from anyone else.
Too soon and it feels pushy — the customer might still be deciding. Too late and the interest has fully faded. A first reminder within one to three hours, and if that gets no response, one last follow-up the next day, is the window that works for most businesses.
A follow-up message isn't there to close the sale by itself. It's there to remind the customer you're still around, and still glad to help.
Orders that stall and then get confirmed anyway tend to have the most verified addresses and the clearest intent behind them — which is also why they carry a lower return rate than orders rushed through without a second check. If you want to see what returns are actually costing your business, our COD return calculator puts a number on it.
When a conversation goes quiet for a set amount of time, Bondhu CRM sends one gentle follow-up automatically, and if that still gets no reply, it flags the conversation for a human to review instead of sending a second automated nudge — so no customer gets chased.
At the right time, in the right tone — give customers the chance to finish an order without ever feeling chased.
